Update Shift Information

Whether at the start of employment with the Company or anytime throughout, an employee may occasionally need to have their shift added or modified in there BambooHR profile. The following guide will assist you in quickly completing this task. Please note that the ability to modify an employee’s Shift Information table is limited to the employee’s direct manager or Human Resources.

Adding Shift Information for New Hire

  1. Access the employee’s BambooHR profile.

  2. Select the employee’s Job tab (if not already selected).

  3. Scroll down to the Shift Information table.

  4. Select the Update Shift Information link on the top-right portion of the Shift Information table.

    • You may also use the Request a Change button on the employe’s profile header (scroll to the top of the page and look for the button on the top-right side).

  5. Enter/select the appropriate information for the provided fields.

    • Please note that if shift is Monday-Friday only select the Weekday option for the Day(s) Scheduled field; likewise if shift occurs on Saturday-Sunday only select the the Weekend option for the Day(s) Scheduled field.

  6. Select the Save icon at the bottom of the window.

    • Unless Human Resources, you will see a brief notification box on the top of the page notifying you that the request has been submitted.

    • Human Resources will receive this request, review, and approve the requested change to the employee’s shift. The direct manager will be notified once a request has been approved, or may be contacted by Human Resources if more information is needed to process the request.

Updating Shift Information

  1. Access the employee’s BambooHR profile.

  2. Select the employee’s Job tab (if not already selected).

  3. Scroll down to the Shift Information table.

  4. Select the Update Shift Information link on the top-right portion of the Shift Information table.

    • You may also use the Request a Change button on the employe’s profile header (scroll to the top of the page and look for the button on the top-right side).

    • Please DO NOT attempt to edit the previously recorded shift as this shall remain documented in the employee’s Shift Information table for historical purposes.

  5. Enter/select the appropriate information for the provided fields.

    • Please note that if shift is Monday-Friday only select the Weekday option for the Day(s) Scheduled field; likewise if shift occurs on Saturday-Sunday only select the the Weekend option for the Day(s) Scheduled field.

  6. Select the Save icon at the bottom of the window.

    • Unless Human Resources, you will see a brief notification box on the top of the page notifying you that the request has been submitted.
